A Definite Difference After a Few Weeks of Differin Gel

This post is not sponsored and is my opinion only.  Oh, and I'm obviously not a doctor.

Oh hey beauties!

Something great happens when you become fanatical about your skin. It starts to appreciate the effort. It's been 3 weeks since I began using Differin (.1% over the counter). I've also cut out almost all dairy, as it upsets my stomach and seems to make my skin worse.

And I've gotta say, I'm loving the results.

Progress, not perfection. No filters, no BS.

Do I still have some minor pimples? Yes, primarily along my jaw line. They used to be whoppers, and they'd never go away. There is one minor bump there along my jaw, which I can feel but not see, and a few bumps along my chin, but overall, the texture and condition has improved immensely.

As you can see in the photo above, which was taken after washing off my makeup at the end of a work day, I still have redness in my cheeks. That's one of those things I've come to accept, and most of my family has ruddy cheeks. But the redness from breakouts is gone.

My overall texture has improved as well. I no longer need to exfoliate as often or as... roughly... as I was before. The retinoid is restructuring my skin from the inside out.

I've had to skip a few days here and there, as it is pretty drying. Overall, I've missed maybe 4 of 21 days. I've been dutiful with using a heavy night cream half an hour after applying. I'd also recommend washing your hands before and after applying.

You guys want to know the best part? It wasn't until after my period that I noticed that I didn't get a period zit. I've gotten one or two massive cysts each cycle since I was 11. I don't know if it's the Differin or the lack of dairy, but I'LL TAKE IT!

I've only used about a quarter of a tube, and I intend to keep using it. I'll check in again in a few weeks!  Has anyone else tried Differin?
