Product Review: Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette
Hello fellow glamazons! I've been using a product now for over a full year, and it's about dang time I reviewed it! It's the Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette, which I purchased from Sephora. They describe it as a "soft and sexy eyeshadow collection," which I find to be exactly true. When I want a classic eye look, this is the palette I choose.
The shadows are divided into three sets: day, classic, and fashion.
Day is very soft, containing the colors In the Buff (a very soft, near white, matte pink), Fuzzy Handcuffs (a matte mauve), and Voulez-Vous (a shimmery deep purple).
I find this trio to be very wearable for work and everyday occasions where you want a little bit of subtle color, but can't go overboard. In this occasion, I was filming outdoors and didn't want anything with too much shimmer. Voulez-Vous does contain SOME shimmer, but I used it in my crease and buffed it out really well, and there was no noticeable shimmer. I paired it with a metallic red lip and a red polo with black pants and red flats.
The classic look contains Satin Sheets (a shimmering light pink with a touch of gold to it), Sugar Walls (an almost metallic taupe with a purplish hue to it), and Garter Belt (a matte medium grey).
Classic is a bit bolder, but also wearable for everyday and work. The only matte is the grey shade, and the shimmer in Satin Sheets can be a bit too much for going to the grocery store, so this look can be done up a little more than I did here for special occasions. Paired with a soft pink gloss, I wore this eye look with a black dress and black flats for work on a day I was staying in the office.
The third trio is fashion. Birthday Suit (a shimmering sandy shade), Lap Dance (a shimmering grey-mauve, deeper than Sugar Walls), and French Tickler (a matte black with specks of gold shimmer).
This trio is surprisingly wearable for every day, like my work look here. I used a matte neutral lip and big hair for some va-va-voom and a black sweater and lacy tank top. The French Tickler needs to be used sparingly for this look, but if you wanted to go more daring, you could use more of it and really get a sultry vixen thing going.
I challenged myself to use the trios together for each of these looks, but they are easily mix and matched. Do not be surprised to see me on a normal Tuesday wearing Fuzzy Handcuffs on my lids, Garter Belt in the crease, and In the Buff under my eyebrows. Paired with some thick mascara or some false lashes and maybe some liquid liner, and you're ready to conquer the world.
Anyone else out there tried this palette? What did you think?
