Introduction: Welcome to KBoo Beauty!
Hello, and welcome! My name is Katie Boone (KBoo), and I've loved makeup and all things beauty for as long as I can remember. I requested earrings at the age of three, and started wearing Bonnie Bell lip balm as "lipstick" in elementary school.
My paternal grandmother sold Avon, and often had samples and returns for me to try/have. She had a drawer of nail polish above the downstairs toilet and it was always fun to look and see if there was anything new.
As I grew older, I always had the light green Covergirl powder compact in my backpack and a brush that folded up (give me a shout out if you did too!). Other girls knew I did, and often requested their use. Looking back, I'm like EWWW but you live and learn, especially with makeup!
I hit a setback in my beauty life in middle school, when an especially crabby teacher mocked me and my lip gloss and perfume in front of the class. Not a single time occurrence, either. I sent my inner glam self away and became kind of a blob in a hoodie for a decade or so.
Only when I graduated college and started to attempt to be healthy and set goals did I gain any self esteem. Granted, I've gotten off track here and there, but every day is a new start and goals are important to get you where you want to be. I am a firm believer that you just keep trying, no matter what, and any improvement is a gain.
My goal for this blog is to help spread and share my love of beauty. If I can help another person feel beautiful, I'll call that a win.
